Last night's Vegas Golden Knights' home opener against the Arizona Coyotes drew lopsided betting action on the Knights at William Hill's Nevada sportsbook. The book ended up losing a "significant six-figure" decision when Vegas won 5-2. It was the largest decision on a hockey game in William Hill's five-year history in Nevada.

I've been saying this is no ordinary expansion. This is the first ever expansion with a salary cap.

It won't apply to offshore but in LV there might be some value betting on their opponent while there is still some novelty to there being a team in Vegas. So many of their new fans are gonna put $20-100 on them and go to the game and NHL is a very light betting market that a few books could move the lines on them.

Yep the dime line opened around -105 and closed at -125. Those 20 cent swings on a 10 cent line should be advantageous to someone. Offshore moved the same though.

I don't really know enough about NHL betting to say but it's also possible the books don't really care if 90% of the action is on the Knights. It's still an NHL game, not exactly Mayweather/McGregor where they wanna have the hold atleast somewhat balanced so they don't get killed.

Knights are the first major sports team playing in the gambling mecca of the world

You're saying 3 games in an 82 game schedule is dominating? They were outshot 46-30 in their first game but Fleury was great in net. Not quite dominating.
